Tom Fetzer, Principal: Tom Fetzer became Raleigh's first ever-Republican Mayor in 1993, in an election hailed by the Wall Street Journal as "the most impressive reform victory in the country" that year. During his tenure in office, Raleigh was named America's #1 City for Business (Money Magazine) and the #1 Place to Live in America (Fortune Magazine).

At the conclusion of his third term as Mayor in 1999, Mr. Fetzer accepted a teaching fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Additionally, he wrote and lectured for the John Locke Foundation, a public policy think tank and founded the Center for Local Innovation, as well as his own non-profit, Private Initiatives in Education.

From 2001 to 2003, Fetzer served as Chief Executive of the United States Tennis Association where he managed a $60 million business unit, which coordinated the association's community outreach efforts and programs. Under his leadership, the USTA launched First Serve, an unprecedented initiative to improve the lives of American's inner-city children through education, mentoring and tennis.

Before his tenure as Mayor, Fetzer served the State of North Carolina as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health, environment and Natural Resources and Chief Deputy Secretary of the Department of Transportation.

Mark Stephens, Principal: Mark Stephens has advised Republican candidates and organizations for the past 25 years. Since 1980, there have been 7 successful Republican U.S. Senate races in North Carolina and Mr. Stephens has had a leadership role in 6 of those races - including Senator Jesse Helms, Senator John East, Senator Lauch Faircloth and Senator Richard Burr. In 2002, Mr. Stephens joined Elizabeth Dole's team to serve as campaign manager for her successful U.S. Senate bid.

Mr. Stephens has taken a leave of absence from the firm to serve as Executive Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Washington, DC. Mr. Stephens will serve in this capacity during Senator Dole's tenure as Chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and will return to Fetzer Stephens after the 2006 election cycle. The NRSC employs 60 people, has a biannual budget in excess of $100 million and is tasked with recruiting, electing and re-electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate. Since his time in Washington, Mr. Stephens has been named one of the Top 50 Movers and Shakers on Capitol Hill by Roll Call Magazine.

Aaron Mullins, Senior Vice President for Government Affairs: Aaron Mullins recently left Capitol Hill after 3 years as a legislative assistant to Senator Elizabeth Dole and 4 years as a legislative assistant to Senator Don Nickles, who at that time held the position of Assistant Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. During his time on Capitol Hill, Mr. Mullins was responsible for a wide range of issues, which included education, environment, energy, trade, health care, social policy, international humanitarian aid and domestic/international hunger.

Mr. Mullins also worked as a political/field operative for the Elizabeth Dole for U.S. Senate campaign, traveling with the candidate as part of the political team and responsible for advancing and staffing campaign events.

Dana Reason, Director of Client Services: Dana is a Raleigh native and a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Political Science/Public Administration.

She won the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant and served as Miss North Carolina 2003.

In 2004, Dana worked as a field representative for Richard Burr's successful campaign for the United States Senate.

Following Senator Burr's election, Dana worked at Bockorny Petrizzo, a bi-partisan governmental relations firm in Washington, D.C.

Dana joined Fetzer Stephens in December, 2005.
